Using Pans and Pots on the Hob

Ztove Pans and Pots

When you place a Ztove pot or pan on a cooking zone and turn on the zone, it will automatically connect. The light on the handle will blink green, confirming the connection. The pot or pan will also automatically appear in the app, where you can set the temperature.

In all Ztove pans and pots, there is a default temperature set, which is the temperature the cookware will automatically set to when you turn on the hob and haven’t started the app.

  • Pans are set to 175 ºC
  • Pots are set to 150 ºC

You can customize default temperatures for each of your cookware according to your preferences within the Ztove app. See how in the user manual.

There are 6 variants of Ztove pans and pots. See them all below:

Regular Induction Pans and Pots

When you place regular induction pans or pots on the hob, it will function as a standard induction hob, where you can control the power from 1-9.

Using Temperature Control in the App

In the app, you can control the temperature from 0-250 ºC. In the app, you can find 100+ recipes with temperature indications, but also programs where the temperature is controlled automatically, such as a potato cooker or a rice cooker.

How the Extractor Hood Works (Video in Danish).

In this video, you can see how the extractor hood looks and is structured.

The extractor hood is composed of 5 parts:

  1. Induction Hob
  2. A glass lid, matching the hob.
  3. Two grease filters. Dishwasher safe.
  4. A drip tray, collecting water from steam. Dishwasher safe.
  5. Air outlet, located behind the motor, facing towards the wall.

It is easy to remove and install all parts within seconds and requires no tools.

A Powerful Motor

The motor is one of the most powerful on the market with a maximum suction capacity of 700 m³/h and can be adjusted down to 250 m³/h.

Low Noise Level

When the extractor hood is set to maximum, it is only 66 dB, and at minimum settings, it is at 47 dB.

Patented Water Protection

The motor is built with patented waterproofing, ensuring it doesn’t break if it comes into contact with water. The extractor hood is equipped with a plug that allows you to empty liquids that have accidentally overflowed into the condensation tray and exceeded its capacity.

Extraction with Recirculation or Ventilation

When installing the Ztove 80 Downdraft, you need to choose between ventilation or recirculation. If you’re designing a new kitchen, your kitchen supplier can usually assist you in setting it up correctly. At Ztove, we can guide you with the right solution. Contact us via live chat or phone at +45 78 707 707 all days of the week between 9 – 17.

Ventilation

With ventilation, the air from the extractor hood is led outside. The hood draws steam from pots and pans and passes it through a filter, which cleans the air of grease particles.
The ventilation duct is connected to the extractor hood, and the cleaned air is led out through a box installed in the wall, which has an outlet to the outside. The hole for the box can also be in the ceiling or basement.

Recirculation

With recirculation, the air is cleaned by the filter and then circulated back into the kitchen. The hood draws in air containing food and cooking odors as well as grease particles. The air is cleaned by a filter just like with ventilation but is subsequently returned to the kitchen. When you choose recirculation, it is necessary to purchase an activated carbon filter, which can absorb food odors from the air. This makes the air cleaner before it is sent out again. An activated carbon filter lasts for up to a year and must then be replaced.

Recirculation is easier to install and is often used in smaller apartments or if you do not want to renovate the entire kitchen. You can purchase Ztove carbon filters by clicking here, or by going to Shop -> Accessories. The activated carbon filters cost €135 and come in a pack of 4.

How to Determine if Your Countertop Fits Ztove

Start by removing your hob from the countertop. If your hob is not flush-mounted or sealed, you can remove the drawers under your hob and tilt the hob up from below by hand. You can also use something flat to wedge under the edge and tilt up. You can then measure the hole and compare it with the hole dimensions for ‘Ztove 80 Downdraft.’

If you cannot remove your hob because it is flush-mounted or sealed, you can try to figure out what hole dimensions your current hob requires and compare them with the hole dimensions for ‘Ztove 80 Downdraft.’

Acceptable hole dimensions for Ztove 80 Downdraft are: 750-760*490-500 mm

The hob is 254 mm deep. Make sure to check if there is enough space under the countertop, or if the countertop is thick enough so the hob does not hit a drawer or cabinet.

Cutting your Countertop

If your dimensions do not fit the hob, you need to contact a carpenter who can cut it.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you don’t find answers to your questions, you can always contact us via chat, email, or +45 78 707 707. We respond promptly every day between 9 AM and 5 PM.

Can I use my normal cookware on the Ztove hob?

Yes, you can. When using induction pots and pans without a built-in temperature sensor, the hob works as normal. You control the heat from 1-9, and there’s also a boost function available.

However, you can neither see nor control the temperature with a precision of ±1 ºC when using cookware other than Ztove’s.

Can I use Ztove without the app?

Yes.

You can use the function “Standard Temperature“.

Standard Temperature

All Ztove pots and pans have a standard temperature. If you start Ztove without using the app, the pan or pot will automatically reach the standard temperature, even without opening the app.

Our default settings are 175°C for pans and 150°C for pots, but you can choose your own.

The standard temperature ensures that you don’t have to worry about the temperature suddenly running wild.
