Rice Cooker

A standard rice cooker, which you plug into the wall, works by measuring the temperature of the rice. Water cannot exceed 100°C, so when the cooker detects 110°C, it knows the water has evaporated, and the rice is done.

Ztove’s automatic rice cooker works the same way.

Simply add rice, salt, and water to a Ztove pot. Start the program with the free Ztove app, and the rice will be cooked to perfection automatically.

When it’s done, Ztove automatically lowers the temperature to 60°C to keep the rice warm, and you’ll receive a notification.

Ingredients

2-9 dl Rice

Water (1.5 times the amount of rice)

0.5-1.5 tsp. Salt

Steps

1
Before you start

Add rice, water and salt to your pot and cover with a lid. Press the “play” button in the recipe, next to the amount of rice you are cooking.

You may want to stir the rice once during cooking, but this is not strictly necessary. Though while the rice is resting, it is a good idea to stir it once to loosen it. This ensures that the rice is cooked evenly.

The rice tastes better, when it has a chance to rest a bit in the pan at 65ºC before serving. So if you’re eating at 6pm, put the rice over at 5pm and it will be perfect. If you’re in a hurry, you can eat it as soon as the program says it’ s ready.

The rice really benefits from resting in the pan at 65ºC. So if you’re eating at 6pm, put the rice over at 5pm and it will be perfect. If you’re in a hurry, you can eat them as soon as the program says they’re ready.

The measurements given for the salt is given with stroked measurements, or else you will get too much salt.

Important! Do not use the scaling function for this recipe. Instead, use the amounts listed under each step.

Tips and Tricks

If you’re cooking brown or black rice, it’s a good idea to add a little more water to the pot than the recipe specifies.
For sushi rice, you can follow the same method outlined in the recipe. Simply mix the cooked rice with a marinade made of 4 tbsp. Japanese rice vinegar, 2 tbsp. sugar, and 0.5 tsp. salt.

If you prefer fluffy rice that doesn’t stick together, rinse the rice thoroughly before cooking. On the other hand, if you want stickier rice that’s easier to eat with chopsticks, skip rinsing.

For portioned servings, try placing the rice in a small bowl and flipping it onto a plate. This creates a neat, half-sphere of rice for a visually pleasing presentation.
