This recipe will help you to cook potatoes in the optimal way without overcooking them.

The recipe has 5 different programmes, depending on the type of potatoes and how you wish to cook them. All you need to do is choose the preparation that suits you and start the respective programme.

The first four programmes are optimised for low energy usage, whilst cooking the potatoes quickly. Choose the programme that matches the size of your potatoes.

The last programme is optimised towards getting the best possible consistency of the potatoes. This programme is set at a lower temperature for a longer period. By cooking the potatoes at a lower temperature for longer, it is easier to get the right consistency of the potatoes. So, if you are not in a rush to get the food on the table, then this is a great way to cook the potatoes.

Ingredients

Boiled potatoes

1.5 l Water

1 kg Potatoes

1 tbsp. Salt

Steps

1
Prepare the potatoes

Pour a minimum of 1.5 litres of water into the pot. This will prevent the water from boiling over during the programs cooking time. The easiest way to do this is to use the measurement lines on the inside of the pot. Clean your potatoes and add them to the pot. Add salt. If the potatoes are not completely covered, then add more water. Choose the programme that best matches your potatoes. If you are unsure if you should choose one or the other of two programs, then choose the one with the longest cooking time. Undercooked potatoes are no fun.

2
Very small, new and baby potatoes (20 minutes)

Very small and new potatoes don’t need long to become creamy, firm and tender. So use this preparation for them.

3
Small potatoes (25 minutes)

Use this preparation for small potatoes and fingerling potatoes. The programme uses about 0.29 KWh.

4
Medium-sized potatoes (40 minutes)

This preparation is for medium-sized potatoes, the standard cooking potatoes. It is important that the potatoes are of the same size. If your potatoes are of mixed sizes, then cut the largest ones in half so that they are all the same size. The programme uses about 0.3 KWh.

5
Large potatoes (50 minutes)

Select this preparation for large cooking potatoes and baking potatoes. The programme uses about 0.3 KWh.

6
Slow-cooked potatoes - creamy and delicious (1½ hours)

This cooking method is optimised to get the best possible consistency of the potatoes. The programme is set at a lower temperature for a longer time. Resulting in delicious creamy potatoes. Use this preparation for all types of potatoes, regardless of size.

Notes

The potatoes will obtain the best texture if they are allowed to cool for about 10 minutes after draining them from the water.
