Questions about the Ztove
How does Ztove work?
Ztove’s pots and pans are equipped with a temperature sensor in the base, which continuously measures the temperature while you cook.
A small computer in the cookware handle automatically connects to the Ztove hob. When you set a temperature on the hob, the system automatically adjusts the amount of heat supplied to the cookware to reach and maintain the selected temperature.
The hob ensures the chosen temperature is maintained, and if you add cold ingredients to the pot or pan, the hob automatically increases the heat to keep the temperature within 1-degree precision.
The base of the cookware is a thick three-layer construction of steel-aluminum-steel, providing excellent heat distribution. This ensures an even temperature across the entire cooking surface.
Can you only use Ztove pots and pans on the Ztove hob?
You can use all types of induction-compatible pots and pans.
If you use your regular pots and pans on Ztove, it functions like a standard hob controlled by levels 1-9.
If you use Ztove cookware, you can control the temperature precisely.
Ztove automatically detects the type of cookware you are using.
You’ll receive two pieces of Ztove cookware when you purchase a Ztove hob.
How do I know which temperature to use?
Cooking with 0-250 °C is easy.
Cooking with precise temperatures is a new approach, but it’s very easy to adapt to. With your new hob, you’ll receive a basic guide and access to the free Ztove app, which includes detailed guides and over 150 free recipes with temperature recommendations.
You’ll quickly get started cooking with Ztove.
Here’s a small excerpt from the basic guide, which comes as a handy booklet.
Temperature Guide
50 – 100 °C | Low heat
100 – 140 °C | Medium heat

How is Ztove's temperature control different from others?
Ztove’s temperature control is significantly more precise because we design both the cookware and the hobs.
With Ztove, you can control temperatures from room temperature to 250 °C with 1-degree precision on all four zones.
While other hobs may offer temperature settings, they often adjust in 10- or 20-degree increments, lack consistent accuracy over time, and can only be used on one zone at a time.
The most common technology uses a temperature sensor in the hob under the glass surface. Measurements are taken either within the hob itself or using infrared light on a pot or pan.
However, these measurements are often far from the actual temperature in the pot or pan. They also vary depending on the type of pot or pan used, as differences in materials, base thickness, and thermal conductivity can affect results.
This leads to fluctuating and imprecise temperatures, which is especially problematic at lower temperatures.
You can read more about the technical differences in this blog post:
Can I use Ztove cookware on a standard hob?
Yes, Ztove’s pans and pots work on all induction hobs, but on a non-Ztove hob, you can only monitor the temperature in the Ztove app.
You can only control the temperature with a Ztove hob.
Does the Ztove app work on my device?
Yes, the Ztove app works on almost all devices.
Ztove is available for both iOS and Android. We recommend at least iOS 13 or Android 9.
If you have a very old phone that does not properly support Bluetooth, you may experience connection issues between the Ztove system and the app.
Can Ztove's cookware go in the refrigerator/freezer?
Yes, our pots and pans are safe for both the refrigerator and freezer.
Can Ztove's cookware go in the dishwasher?
We recommend not using Ztove’s pots and pans in the dishwasher, as there is a risk of damaging the battery and electronics.
Can Ztove's cookware go in the oven?
Our pots and pans cannot go in the oven, as the electronics in the handle cannot withstand very high temperatures.
How long does the battery last in the pots and pans?
1-2 years.
The pots and pans use standard flat batteries, which can be purchased in most stores. The battery type is CR2032.
The cookware automatically enters sleep mode when stored in a drawer and turns on automatically when moved. As a result, it consumes very little power.
How long does the non-stick coating on the pans last?
Ztove’s non-stick pans last much longer than regular non-stick pans if you keep the temperature below 220 °C.
Read this study we conducted with our non-stick pans. We test durability at different temperatures.
Who is behind Ztove?
Ztove is a Danish company that began in 2016 by exploring how to cook using temperature control instead of the traditional 1-9 settings.
In collaboration with chefs, our engineers built a prototype that received very positive feedback.
We believe that in 10 years, no one will buy a hob without the ability to set precise temperatures for their pots and pans.

FAQ
About Cooking
Questions about cooking with Ztove
Can Ztove replace my sous vide?
Yes.
You can control the temperature with 1-degree precision, allowing you to perform sous vide cooking directly in your Ztove pot.
Use a lid and ensure the food does not touch the bottom, for example, by using a rack or a couple of spoons. This gives you a perfect sous vide pot without needing an immersion circulator.
Can Ztove replace a deep fryer?
Yes.
Ztove can provide much more heat on a single zone than the average deep fryer. This allows Ztove to better regulate the temperature when cold food is added to the pot compared to a regular deep fryer.
Can I temper chocolate with Ztove?
Yes.
The pots are excellent for tempering chocolate. Simply follow the steps described below.
Add 2/3 of the chopped chocolate to the pot, set the temperature to 50 °C, and melt the chocolate while stirring gently and consistently.
Remove the pot from the hob.
Then add the remaining 1/3 of the chocolate, stirring gently and consistently. Once the last bit of chocolate has melted, it is tempered and ready to use.
You can then set the temperature of your pot to the working temperature, which is between 29-31 °C, depending on the type of chocolate you are using.
